About Ike "The Fraidy Cat" Broflowski

Ike... Soooo many things come to mind when his name is spoken.

Ike joined the family as a stray when Joann lived in an apartment in Kent. He was scared (which would mark the future course of his life) and lost. So naturally Joann invited him into her home. He joined the family in the summer of 1998.

José was not quick to warm up to his new roommate, but as time passed, José learned to live with him.

Ike has had his share of kitty trauma, and has used up a few of his nine lives.

A cat living in perpetual fear. Every moment of his life, Ike is ready to leap in any given direction, for any reason at all. Afraid of loud noises? Of course! Sudden movement? You betcha! His own shadow? Yes! In fact, it's been witnessed!

Ike is always ready for earthquakes (his favorite sleeping place is the doorway to the bedroom). Ike knows that the sound of a squirt bottle is reason for abject terror, and imminent fleeing. In fact, even the FAKED sound is enough to cause an anxiety attack.

In short, Ike's little life is lived in perpetual fear that somewhere, somehow, something bad is always just about to happen to him.

And yet...

Ike has the ability to fling himself wildly into a lap and pass out almost instantly with no care at all for whether his head is above or below the level of his heart. Did I say 'lap'? I'm sorry - Ike can sleep head-down ANYwhere. As long as it's a wierd position, you'll find Ike there.

Ike's fear does not rule his life... only the waking moments of it.

He is now living a relaxing life as an indoor kitty and likes to watch squirrels and birds through the window.
